My Story
My name is Sophia Iyegha, a native of Montgomery AL. I am a proud graduate of Alabama State University where I majored in Biology. I am a full-time member of the United States Air Force where I have served for over 15 years. I have a wonderful husband of almost 11 years and 4 beautiful children. I have a huge passion for birth and lactation, specifically in the African American communities. I have personal experiences with induction, vaginal birth with the epidural, natural birth as well a cesarean birth (breeched baby). I also have experience with breastfeeding, I breastfed all 4 of my children 15 months or more. I am a Certified Birth Doula, Certified Lactaion Counselor and a Certified Military Lactation Counselor. I support families in Montgomery, Alabama and surrounding counties. I look forward to working with you and your family.
Support Services
Doula Services
It's important to take care of your body before during and after giving birth. I offer 2 prenatal appointments where we will come up with the best birth plan for you as well as a comfort measures session. I assist at the hospital and come to 2 postpartum visits. I look forward to working with you and your support crew.
Lactation Services
Breastfeeding can help protect babies against some short- and long-term illnesses and diseases. Some moms may run into challenges and need some support and encouragement. Let's team together to figure it out.
